A Real Reality Woman
After being "Botched" this actress is opening the Hollywood Backdoor and trying to help other artists find their way into the entertainment biz.
Los Angeles, CA, June 25, 2014 --(PR.com)-- Watched any good reality shows lately? Well, we have a few good ones for you starring a few well known faces. For those of you familiar with the Real Housewives reality franchise will find the faces of the two plastic surgeons on the new reality series Botched (premiered June 24th on the E! Network) very recognizable. Doctors Paul Nassif and Terry Dubrow are changing the lives of people who have suffered disfiguring plastic surgery on their new show.
One of the people featured on the premiere episode of Botched was actress Michelle Blackwell. She is also a writer, entrepreneur and owner of the new entertainment group Hollywood Backdoor, as well as a familiar face in the world of reality television. Although not as recognizable a face as Dr. Nassif or Dr. Dubrow (who were both introduced to the masses when they appeared with their spouses on the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills), Blackwell has appeared on several reality shows in the past.
She made her reality show debut back in the 1990s on the hit dating show Studs. “That show popped my ‘reality show’ cherry, so to speak.” She says with a chuckle in her throat. “I was actually in high school using a fake id when I was cast to do that show.” She followed that up with appearances on such popular shows as How Do I Look, Ricki [Lake], Jeff Probst Show and even a fly by night nature show titled Going Wild.
By the time Blackwell was approached to be on the series Botched, she had undergone several rhynoplasty (nasal surgery), none of which were successful, and was at her wits end. “When I got the call telling me I was one of the people chosen to have revision surgery done on my nose I cried like a baby… because I literally could not breathe out of it,” she says. “I had just done another reality series the summer before and because of the extremely hot temperatures where we were filming, my nostrils had totally collapsed. My sinuses had swollen shut and no air was passing through my nose at all. So I desperately needed my nose done.”
The Botched series and the numerous other reality show appearances would eventually prime Blackwell for the ultimate show appearance—her own reality series based around her new entertainment group the 'Hollywood Backdoor.' She contends that she was so inspired by her experience on Botched that she decided to produce her own reality show to inspire and encourage other entrepreneurial minded entertainers like herself, who stand in their own way of success to take a leap of faith and reach for success.
Blackwell's new show, tentatively titled Hollywood Bootcamp, is based on a set of strenuous performance workshops she offers through the newly formed Hollywood Backdoor group here in Los Angeles. The Hollywood Bootcamp series will focus on a group of extremely talented artists who will be brought together to be coached into stepping out of their own way and allowing their talent to be their guide.
