AFG Group Receives CMAA Metro NY/NJ Project of the Year Award for M/W/DBE Firms
AFG Group is honored to receive Project of the Year Award from the Association’s CMAA Metro NY/NJ Chapter. The award recognizes AFG’s outstanding Construction Management practices for an $8.8 million interior renovation on the Brooklyn Municipal Building, serving NYC Department of Finance.

Held at The Yale Club of New York City, the CMAA Twenty First Awards Banquet featured key speaker Scott Stringer, NYC Comptroller. AFG’s winning project is in the competition’s “M/W/DBE Managed” category.
The award recognizes AFG’s outstanding construction management practices, leadership, problem solving, and innovation for the Brooklyn Business Center / City Register’s Office Renovation project serving NYC Department of Finance.
AFG managed construction for an $8.8 million interior renovation on the Brooklyn Municipal Building. The project scope included two floors, totaling approximately 24,000 square feet. All of the tenants’ operations remained functional and some had to remain open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, throughout the project.
The project was faced with several delays including the impact of Hurricane Sandy, and changes in scope after the design was complete. Despite numerous challenges, AFG successfully resolved schedule disruptions, provided a quality product, and met end-user needs, resulting in project completion within the original 12-month period.
