Old Chatham Golf Club Hosts Fifth Annual Corporate Tournament for the First Tee of the Triangle

Raleigh, NC, June 26, 2014 --(PR.com)-- Old Chatham Golf Club recently hosted a sell-out crowd at its fifth annual corporate tournament benefiting The First Tee of the Triangle, a local nonprofit organization. Funds generated from the tournament will provide program scholarships for about 600 youth participating in The First Tee of the Triangle, which is dedicated to impacting the lives of young people by providing educational programs that build character, instill life-enhancing values and promote healthy choices through the game of golf.

Twenty-seven teams participated in the tournament, which sold out six weeks in advance. The event included a lunch followed by a shotgun start at 1 p.m., with a tournament format of net best ball. An awards reception, which included a live auction of golf experiences at Old Chatham, Pinehurst and the Lexus Champions for Charity tournament in Pebble Beach, Calif., concluded the tournament.

Featuring a course that won the honor as the top-rated golf course in the Triangle by the 2014 North Carolina Golf Panel and based in North Carolina’s Research Triangle region, Old Chatham Golf Club has exclusively supported The First Tee of the Triangle since 2010 by offering its course free of charge for this annual tournament. While golf clubs will occasionally discount rounds for a charity, it is rare that one will offer its facilities completely free for an event. This generosity allows The First Tee of the Triangle to minimize expenses and maximize the benefit to its participants.
