Blackburn Wraps
Shooting for Blackburn, an action-packed horror movie from 3B Entertainment and director Lauro Chartrand (Born to Raise Hell) has completed.
Hollywood, CA, June 20, 2014 --(PR.com)-- “It’s a wrap! The cast and crew deserve a long nap!” -director Lauro Chartrand.
Shooting for Blackburn, an action-packed horror movie from 3B Entertainment and director Lauro Chartrand (Born to Raise Hell) has completed.
The challenging Blackburn shoot took place at nights, on locations in Britannia Beach and Squamish, BC. The majority of the movie was filmed inside the historic Britannia Mine and surrounding structures. Now a museum, the Britannia Mine was once the largest producer of copper in the British Commonwealth.
“The Britannia Mine Museum is an award-winning National Historic Site and a place of wonder and amusement for your whole family. But it’s also an intimidating and nerve-wracking location to shoot a movie. The Blackburn crew had special access to the dankest, darkest and quite frankly the scariest parts of the mine and mill house – places where the tours dare not go,” said producer W. Corr Pearce. “Frankly, I’m amazed they let us get away with it.”
“A crazy schedule, daunting environment, numerous stunts, and intricate special effects, didn’t faze this crew,” said director Lauro Chartrand. “Things weren’t any easier on our cast. The veteran horror heavyweights really delivered, but I think audiences will be totally blown away by the performances from our young leads.”
Blackburn is being produced by John Sereda, Nastasha Baron and W. Corr Pearce of 3B Entertainment. The cast features Calum Worthy (from Disney’s Austin and Ally), Sarah Lind (WolfCop), Zack Peledeau (Crisis Point), Emilie Ullerup (Sanctuary, A Little Bit Zombie) and Alexander Calvert (Lost Boys: The Tribe), along with genre veterans Lochlyn Munro (Freddy vs. Jason), Ken Kirzinger (Frieddy vs. Jason) and Brad Loree (Halloween: Resurrection).
Blackburn is set in a small Alaskan ghost town with a horrifying history. A forest fire and rockslide trap five bickering college friends overnight. Seeking refuge inside the abandoned Blackburn Mine they must band together as they begin to vanish one-by-one. Directed by Lauro Chartrand (Born to Raise Hell), and written by Nastasha Baron (Kingdoms of Grace), Blackburn is expected in theaters this fall. Blackburn is represented internationally by Raven Banner Entertainment, www.ravenbanner.ca.
Blackburn the movie joins the Blackburn mobile game app based on the same story and characters, including the original concept art for the movie. The Blackburn mobile game app is now available on iTunes App Store©, Google Play© and the Amazon Apps©.
