Woodapple helped design the Fortis Healthcare Intranet to bring over 6,000 employees across 65 healthcare facilities on a single cohesive platform.

A critical initiative by the corporate office to unify the Fortis brand internally, the Intranet is expected to bring over 6,000 employees across 65 healthcare facilities across India, Singapore, Dubai, Mauritius and Sri Lanka on a single cohesive platform as part of a brand consolidation exercise.
Speaking at the launch of the Intranet, Mr Aditya Vij, CEO of Fortis Healthcare Ltd welcomed all employees asking them to join “MyFortis, the new Fortis Intranet, which has been designed as yet another platform to bring the organisation closer to its employees.” He said the Intranet “will serve as a means of keeping you updated on the happenings across the Fortis world. It will also be a one-stop source for all important information, such as policies, standard operating procedures and organisation-wide announcements. We will continue to grow the Intranet and add useful content.” Mr Vij urged employees to visit the portal often to check out latest updates and keep sharing their feedback. He emphasised how, as an organisation, Fortis is at an exciting stage having successfully laid a solid foundation. As India emerges as the global healthcare hub, it is witnessing a surge in both domestic and international patients. Patient centricity is becoming paramount and the focus is strong on positioning Fortis as the preferred healthcare provider on the global stage. He concluded, “as we work together to deliver innovative patient-centric services, communication will play a key role in ensuring that we are all aligned to our organisational objectives. This portal is a step forward in facilitating communication across the organisation and tapping synergies.”
Initiated by the top management, the project was developed in phases keeping in mind the core functional proposition of the Intranet, which includes comprehensive leave management, allowance requisition, new joiners kit, internal job posting, online modules for training, and search functionality. Employees can also edit and personalise their accounts and upload reports.
Fortis Hospitals have been able to achieve clinical excellence in a number of fields, which includes the fields of heart surgery, bariatric surgery, joint replacements and stem cell-based operations along with various other life-saving operations. The Fortis Hospitals Intranet Community offers its employees a platform to discover information regarding its latest achievements in the field of medical excellence.
Apart from essential functionalities, the Intranet also seeks engagement between employees on informal spaces through social connection tools such as Yammer. There are numerous clubs within the organisation across cities, each with its own diehard members; the Intranet will help promote more employees to join these and enjoy shared interests, both offline and online.
