Social Entrepreneurship RVE.SOL, headquartered in Portugal, has received funding from KIC InnoEnergy to reduce poverty and fight climate change by bringing access to clean energy and potable water to the millions of Africans living in rural poverty.
KIC InnoEnergy shares the vision of RVE.SOL - that access to sustainable, affordable energy services and clean water is a human right. By investing in the poor instead of giving charity with the KUDURA mini-grid energy hub, all stakeholders thrive and investors realize solid returns while helping improve lives and the planet. With business activity and partnerships in Uganda, Nigeria, Mozambique and Angola, RVE.SOL is seeing people, governments and organizations willing to make a change.
KUDURA means "the power to change" in Swahili. It is a sustainable answer to ending the cycle of poverty – through access to clean, affordable solar electricity, potable water, biogas for cooking and biofertiliser for agriculture. This integrated system uses dirty water, solar energy, and manure to produce potable, clean drinking water, electricity, biogas and and organic fertilizer for the community.
