ReproTech Advocates Fertility Preservation at Oncology Conferences
St. Paul, MN, June 28, 2014 --(PR.com)-- ReproTech, Ltd., a cryobank specializing in long-term storage of human reproductive tissue (sperm, eggs, embryos and ovarian and testicular tissue), exhibited at the Association of Oncology Social Work (AOSW) annual conference and the National Coalition of Oncology Nurse Navigators (NCONN) annual conference recently.
In Baltimore, more than 500 oncology social work professionals met for the 30th Annual Association of Oncology Social Work Conference, and in Atlanta, over 250 oncology nurse navigators and health professionals gathered for the 5th Annual National Coalition of Oncology Nurse Navigators Conference. Both events were excellent opportunities to stress the importance of fertility preservation education and options for oncology patients.
With the increase in cancer survivorship rates and the recent advances in Assisted Reproductive Technology, more and more cancer patients are making the decision to preserve their fertility. ReproTech’s goal is to educate oncology and other healthcare professionals on the importance of discussing Fertility Preservation with their patients at the time of diagnosis.
ReproTech, Ltd. has organized its Fertility Preservation Network to educate oncology professionals and caretakers, as well as provide much needed cryopreservation services. The network includes members in 34 states and the Caribbean. Additionally, the work of LIVESTRONG, including its LIVESTRONG Fertility Programs, has advanced the awareness of the need for Fertility Preservation among the oncology community.
