Merrill-Stevens Yachts Offers 8 New Yachts from Top European Designers Delivered in Miami with US Specs
Miami, FL, July 09, 2014 --(PR.com)-- Espen Oeino, Hot Labs, Rolls-Royce Marine, Omega and Vripack are the venerable European design names on offer from RMK Marine’s award-winning shipyard. The yachts will be built to U.S. specifications and delivered in Miami at RMK Merrill-Stevens shipyard.
“It’s a new chapter in American yachting,” states Paul Madden, head of new construction at Merrill Stevens Yachts. “Now you can have your European-built mega-yacht, with U.S. specs, delivered to you in Miami where the warranty and ongoing service is provided by America’s oldest and most respected yacht company.”
The portfolio of new build mega-yachts spans from the 85-meter (280’) NVC 85Y, designed and powered by Rolls-Royce Marine, down to a very practical 110’ Vripack Explorer yacht (which is part of a Vripack-designed award-wining Explorer series that goes up to 175’). Both Espen Oeino and Omega Architects have created yachts that share a new 49-meter Fast Displacement Hull which is a patented new hull form designed by Van Oossanen & Assoc. and used by Heesen.
Italian design house, Hot Labs, has delivered an innovative design for the RMK 5000 Explorer. The 164-foot mega-yacht features an ice-class hull with either diesel or electric propulsion packages for long-range cruising. The Luxury Explorer’s aft deck features a helipad and room to stow a 30-foot tender, a submarine, a hovercraft, personal watercraft, and diving equipment.

“Our clients can spec out their yacht, and even select interior marble, fabrics and furnishings right in our Miami new build center,” comments Paul Madden, who has also represented Blohm+Voss and CRN Ancona. “We conference directly with the shipyard’s naval architects and project managers via Skype and can watch the vessel being built in real-time on an I-Pad. This is the new way to get the best of both worlds - a European build with a reliable U.S. shipyard overseeing everything.”
