Mala and Mantra Launches Sustainable Summer Collection at Yoga Journal Live San Diego
California-based jewelry brand introduces a summer capsule collection of fashion-forward, sustainable bracelets and necklaces.
San Diego, CA, July 09, 2014 --(PR.com)-- With summer well underway, accessories brand Mala and Mantra is giving eco-conscious, fashion-loving, and mindful consumers everywhere a chance to show off their style this season with its new collection of eco-friendly necklaces and bracelets made of sustainable beads sourced from the Philippines. Perfect as a boho-chic beach accessory or a fun alternative to your everyday meditation tool, the Moda—Spanish for fashion—Mala Collection is designed with the intention of supporting sustainability and spreading positive messages.
The luxury, mala bead–inspired pieces are handmade and hand-knotted using sustainably sourced Filipino woods such as rosewood, blackwood, and whitewood, as well as natural coconut shell and glass beads sourced from Japan. Each piece includes a beautiful tassel or Hamsa hand charm, as well a dedicated mantra that wearers can repeat while practicing yoga and meditation. To add a pop of color, the 18–style collection comes in a range of bright hues like Avocado Green, Marigold, Neon Pink, and Orchid.
“Inspired by all of the natural beauty of the Philippine islands and the desire to highlight its sustainable materials, I decided to design a special collection of malas handcrafted from woods and natural materials from the 7,100 islands of this beautiful country—the homeland of my family,” says Judith Compton, founder and creator of Mala and Mantra.
The Moda Mala Collection will launch at Yoga Journal Live San Diego from July 11–13, where more than 1,500 yogis will gather to practice yoga and shop the latest offerings available to the yoga community. The line retails for a suggested price of $14–$64 and is available for purchase by the trade. The Moda Mala Collection will also be available at resorts and spas in Arizona, California, Florida, Hawaii, Maine, Nevada, Washington, and Cabo San Lucas, Mexico.
About Mala and Mantra: Mala and Mantra’s debut collection of fashionable mala bead bracelets and necklaces was unveiled in February 2014 and features a lineup of 36 products. Each piece is designed in San Diego and consciously created in the Philippines by a co-op of female artisans. By purchasing production from these artisans, Mala and Mantra helps provide a sustainable income, safe work environment, and the opportunity to expand the artisans’ livelihood and that of their communities. With a focus on wellness, mindfulness, spirituality, and style, Mala and Mantra’s pieces help wearers create their own self-transformation and draw them closer to their soul.
