Tucker, GA, July 10, 2014 --(PR.com)-- The Foundation for Financial Planning announces its support of local financial planning organizations with an opportunity for FPA Chapters, NAPFA Regions and other local financial planning organizations to apply for grants totaling $118,750 to support the delivery of pro bono financial planning to adult underserved populations.
The Foundation for Financial Planning, the financial planning profession’s foundation, is the only organization solely devoted to supporting the delivery of pro bono financial planning. It has provided over $5.5 million in grants to support pro bono financial planning advice to more than 320,000 underserved individuals. Pro bono financial planning matters and the work of the Foundation for Financial Planning changes peoples’ lives by helping them make better financial decisions.
“This initiative’s goal is to help energize pro bono financial planning efforts with one-on-one pro bono financial planning opportunities for underserved populations,” said James A. Peniston, executive director of the Foundation for Financial Planning. “While the grant funding is important, we realize the work cannot be done without the tireless dedication of volunteer financial advisors and planners. Our volunteers are the connectors to the underserved and are essential in helping the Foundation meet its mission to help people take control of their financial lives by connecting the financial planning community with people in need,” said Elissa Buie, CFP®, Foundation Chair.
The Foundation for Financial Planning meets its mission daily by connecting financial advisors with underserved populations. In addition to volunteer opportunities, the Foundation also provides local, regional and national nonprofits with grants in support of pro bono advice to those in need, including providing financial planning resources free of charge to the military and nonprofits. It Matters.
