Moonlit Woods Provide Ground for Prohition Themed 5k
Runners to embody Bootlegging Theme for Charity.
Memphis, TN, July 10, 2014 --(PR.com)-- Memphis, TN- Trivium Racing is putting runners in the shoes of their bootleggin’ ancestors, in this new night- time trail 5K that will transform Shelby Farms Park on August 30th, to a historic period of American history.
As runners don their headlamps, individuals will test their good judgment through the backcountry trails under the moonlight attempting to arrive at one goal: Moonshine. This event will transition runners back to the 1920’s Prohibition Era rum running and race through the wooded trails of the backcountry. As runners “escape the law” running through the dark night, participants have their sights set on the finish which is scattered with Piedmont Distilleries Moonshine as well as live Bluegrass and Old- Timey Music. The race is open to those of all ages, however those over the age of 21 will receive two free Moonshine drink tickets as part of the post- race party. Also, the event is chip timed so there will be overall and age group awards.
Trivium Racing is also proud to announce that we will be partnering with Wings Cancer Foundation for this event. Wings Cancer Foundation’s mission is to provide hope, education, research, and support to all of those who have been touched by cancer. Trivium Racing will donate a portion of the event proceeds to support all of the good work Wings does in the community. The public can check out more information and register for the event by visiting http://bootlegger5k.com. Ticket prices range from $33 to $45 depending on when the participant signs up. Registration includes entry to the event and post party, a Bootlegger shirt, commemorative moonshine Mason jar, and the event timing chip.
Trivium Racing is a race production and management company that puts on both fun and serious races including the Rockin' Marathon Relay, Glow in the Park, a range of triathlons, and road running events.
