Sisters Oregon -- The Town of Tiny Lights Celebrates a Cowboy Christmas
Come celebrate a Cowboy Christmas in Sisters Oregon.
Sisters, OR, October 19, 2007 --(PR.com)-- The Sisters Area Chamber of Commerce, Black Butte Ranch, Camp Sherman, Suttle Lake and Hoodoo Mountain Resort are partnering to bring you a “Cowboy Christmas” in The Sisters Country. Everyone is encouraged to come and enjoy the Pioneering Spirit of Sisters with events planned from Thanksgiving through New Year’s Eve.
A Tree Lighting ceremony, Christmas parade and visits with Santa will kick off the events after Thanksgiving and culminate with the fireworks display at Hoodoo on New Year’s Eve.
One of the signature events of the Cowboy Christmas is the Home on the Range sponsored by Black Butte Ranch and Coldwell Banker Reed Brothers Realty. “Home on the Range” is a gingerbread display that will be located at the main lodge at Black Butte Ranch. Houses will also be displayed throughout Sisters at various locations on the Gingerbread House Trail.
“Home on the Range” participants purchase a lot and develop it with gingerbread homes/stores/structures, etc. made of 51% edible materials. Over 25 merchant locations will participate in Sisters' "Gingerbread House Trail" throughout downtown Sisters with proceeds from the lot sales and the gingerbread trail being donated to the Sisters Area Habitat for Humanity. Lots may also be purchased and donated to the Sisters schools for kids to develop. All Sisters area businesses are encouraged to enter this contest. Entry forms are available at Coldwell Banker Reed Bros. realty, the Chamber, Black Butte Ranch, Lake Creek Lodge, Sisters Movie House, Sisters Athletic Club and online at www.blackbutteranch.com, or www.sisterschamber.com.
Other holiday events include a Breakfast with Santa at Black Butte Ranch, special Christmas movie matinees at Sisters Movie House, wine tasting, ice carving contest, Christmas Bazaar at Camp Sherman, and much more.
