Jade Esteban Estrada is Artist of the Month on Internet radio station
New York, NY, October 21, 2007 --(PR.com)-- International Artist Debut Radio welcomes comedian/actor/Latin pop singer Jade Esteban Estrada as Artist of the Month on their weekly internet radio show. The program theme for October is “Celebrate Diversity.” The Comedy Central star talks about Hispanic Heritage Month, immigration, gay marriage and other topics from downtown Chicago with hosts Eugene Ebner and James Armstrong. The interview can be heard at http://iadradio.com/featured.htm.
A prolific actor in film and television, Estrada has appeared on “30 Rock” (NBC), “Friday Night Lights” (NBC), “The Graham Norton Effect” (Comedy Central), “In the Life TV” (PBS) and his music can be heard on the Golden Globe and Emmy award-winning police drama “The Shield” (FX).
The former Charo choreographer and scratch vocalist for the Back Street Boys was the guest speaker for Hispanic Heritage Month at MTV Networks in September.
“Estrada is not an icon by accident,” raves Nicholas Snow of Notes from Hollywood. “You’ll laugh your butts off when Jade Esteban Estrada takes the stage,” warns Out Magazine. The Oklahoma Gazette calls him a “prominent and controversial gay Latin performer.” The Advocate calls him “the first gay Latin star.” The Bowling Green News calls him “one of today’s best solo performers.” The Dallas Morning News calls him “funny and irreverent.”
Estrada has been known for his highly acclaimed solo theatre shows including “Tortilla Heaven” and “ICONS: The Lesbian and Gay History of the World, Vol. 1.” His recent production of “Pico de Gallo” has won praise from critics across the United States.
Estrada stars in the upcoming feature film, “Crosshairs” with Matthew Jasso and the new Lee Harvey Oswald film “lho-63.”
Hispanic Heritage Month is celebrated annually from September 15-October 15.
Ebner states, “Jade Esteban Estrada is not only an incredible performer but also an activist within the GLBT community and Latin community. IAD Radio is honored to feature him as our Artist of the Month for October. We would like to thank him for being an example and helping us celebrate diversity.”
International Artist Debut Radio features new and established artists who use their creative talents to make a positive difference in the world. They will feature dance diva Niki Haris later this month.
