Tesco Café Digital Menu Solution

Henley-On-Thames, United Kingdom, July 12, 2014 --(PR.com)-- Tesco's objective was to modernise its outdated instore dining areas, and to create the experience of a premium café. It wanted the look and feel to be more contemporary incorporating theatre style cooking and providing better facilities for families. Digital signage from ONELAN is a critical element in achieving this new premium café experience.
The initial requirement from Tesco was to ensure that the software was very straightforward and user friendly for café managers and kitchen staff. Allen Creative, the integrator responsible for this project, has designed the solution so that it can be expanded as and when required in the future.
Currently 9 cafés have digital menu solutions comprising a ONELAN Net-Top-Box (NTB) NTB650-LITE driving 7 screens in each Café.
Ad Hoc scheduling enables local on site content update and control. The system is managed using a ONELAN Digital Signage Manager (DSM). A single channel of content published with PLI determines content playback.
“As always Allen Creative have worked with us to create a massive step change approach in the way we do merchandising. We have proved that as well as having a digital signage solution on a back wall we can actually take this to the next step. We have managed to place it into locations that previously we thought were impossible. With every changing technology, I am hopeful that working with Allen Creative will help us to drive new innovation in terms of wireless, touch screen, apps to manage signage on the move and even curved screens. The possibilities are endless, when you consider 14 months ago we relied 100% on Snap Clip frames and paper marketing material, imagine the next 14 months!" -Richard Pratt, Project Implementation Manager, Tesco
ONELAN develops network appliances for standalone and end-to-end Digital Signage network solutions. The Net-Top-Box is a multimedia, multi-zoned solution capable of Touch Interactivity. With a browser based user interface, the system is fully multi-lingual and capable of displaying both stored media and live media e.g RSS feeds, web pages and broadcast TV or locally streamed video. Further members of the product family cater for Enterprise network management and integration with external data sources.
ONELAN’s NTBs are now installed in a wide variety of organisations across the world in markets including retail, education, corporations, DOOH & outdoor, government, healthcare, hotel & casino, leisure, restaurant and transportation.
