Fecteau Slams Congress’ Response to the VA Crisis

Providence, RI, July 21, 2014 --(PR.com)-- Statement from Representative Cicilline’s Democratic Congressional opponent Matt Fecteau:

“On June 11th 2014, a bipartisan proposal known as the Veterans Affairs Act was passed 93 to 3 in the US Senate. This was a rare victory for the American people, and our veterans. Everyone including myself expected a quick fix to the issues faced at the Department of Veterans Affairs.

“As of right now, this bill is bottlenecked in a conference committee. Apparently, the US House is concerned with the cost. Members of the US House of representatives such as Congressman Cicilline have no issue with paying empty lip service to our veterans, but they just cannot get the job done.

“We need leadership in the US House that understands the needs of veterans. Unlike Congressman Cicilline, I understand what it means to serve and will get the job done. This crisis deserves our attention and resources now.”
