Nikki Durrance Flees Misogynist Husband in "Déjà vu at the Blue Diamond Saloon"
Las Vegas, NV, July 12, 2014 --(PR.com)-- In Déjà vu at the Blue Diamond Saloon, latest novel by Kathy Holmes, “Woman escapes misogynist husband on a quest to find herself and when she meets a man who appears to be Mr. Right, her life lessons are tested. Can she save herself or will it be déjà vu all over again?”
Twitter was in an uproar about the Santa Barbara incident and women were sharing their thoughts on misogyny with the hashtag #YesAllWomen. This topic hits home with many women and author Kathy Holmes shares her experience through her fictional character, Nikki Durrance in her latest novel, Déjà vu at the Blue Diamond Saloon.
The book blurb reads: “Nikki Durrance escaped the worst nightmare of her life when she fled Las Vegas for San Francisco, leaving her misogynist husband behind at the Blue Diamond Saloon. So when the perfect Dr. Mike Fischer proposes, she accepts. But when her new Mr. Right begins to transform into a man just like her ex-husband, she begins to question everything, including her sanity.
"Nikki longs to trust Mike, but with an overwhelming feeling of déjà vu, Nikki’s fear propels her into discoveries of betrayals and underworld connections that will send her running for her life again.”
Often when a marriage or a relationship ends, women jump right into the next relationship without analyzing what went wrong. And divorce #1 leads to divorce #2. Too often women are attracted to the same type of man and without taking that much-needed time to analyze what went wrong, they repeat their mistakes.
Holmes was called a “trendsetter” when she published her first novel Real Women Wear Red followed by Real Women Sing the Blues as part of her “Real Women” series. But she believes in empowering women in a non-aggressive way. One of her trademarks is that her novels are often set in fun locales. And the woman is taken by surprise when in the midst of living her fabulous life, she discovers her life really isn’t working after all and she is compelled to take inventory of her past and present in order to secure a happy future.
