Defense Strategies Institute Releases Agenda for 2014 SOF Symposium
Defense Strategies Institute has released the 2014 SOF Symposium agenda featuring critical topics and speakers valuable to the special operations community. This year's symposium will take place October 20-21, 2014 in Alexandria, VA.
Washington, VA, July 16, 2014 --(PR.com)-- Defense Strategies Institute's 2014 SOF Symposium agenda has been released. Taking place October 20-21, 2014, this year's symposium will focus on leveraging global SOF in support of regional stability and national security.
This year's event will emphasize the critical role of globally connected SOF, whereby operators and support staff can provide more effective support to regions of interest. SOF must build trust with allies and partner nations to ensure stability and to protect US interests. SOF’s multi-faceted mission set will be discussed with an emphasis on training, readiness, and materiel to stabilize regions in conflict as well as conduct COIN and counter terrorism operations to protect US and partner interests.
Key topics include:
-Enhancing the Global SOF Network to ensure regional stability
-Interagency operations to disrupt terrorist networks
-Training and delivery of highly capable SOF from all services in support of national security interests
-Capability requirements and acquisition priorities necessary to respond to current and future missions
This year's Symposium will also feature a panel of senior experts to discuss intergovernmental operations to disrupt terrorist networks and enhance regional stabilization. AMB James Jeffrey and Prof Colin Kahl will be leading the panel.
