In today’s world, the problem of retrieving a deceased person’s access codes to bank accounts and websites is rapidly increasing. Coping with the death of a loved one is difficult enough, but to be sent on a treasure hunt trying to retrieve their digital assets is too much. My Testament Vault is an iPhone/Android App that allows the user to store all the information, the executor of his Will & Testament might need.

The user is directed by the app on how to collect all necessary information and can also leave instructions for his/her loved ones. The information is then secured in an encrypted database and stored only on the phone.

The owner of the app can give access to anyone he chooses or only provide access to a legally appointed executor after death. This is implemented through a cloning system, where an exact copy (encrypted) of the database is created. The owner of the app can request a clone to be sent to another instance of the app, or the executor can request a clone after properly documenting the passing of the owner.

For a small monthly fee the owner can request that his encrypted database is automatically backed up in the cloud every time he makes a change to the information in the database. This backup is encrypted and is only used to create a clone. If the user loses his phone, he can also request a clone.
