Milwaukee Native Mike Reynolds Returns Home for Launch of His New Dark Fantasy Fiction Release
Los Angeles writer and Milwaukee native, Mike Reynolds to launch "Hell and the Hunger" at Double Eagle Pub in the historic Humphrey Scottish Rite Masonic Center August 24 at 1pm
Milwaukee, WI, July 23, 2014 --(PR.com)-- Keep your neck covered when you meet Mike Reynolds and he lets the vampire out of his new Dark Fantasy / Horror novel for the official launch of "Hell and the Hunger". Mike will be talking about and signing his latest book on Sunday, August 24th at 1:00 pm at The Double Eagle Pub in the historic Humphrey Scottish Rite Center, 790 N. Van Buren Street, Milwaukee, WI. “I’m going to talk a little bit about the book, do a little reading, answer questions, and then I’m going to do some signing,” Reynolds said.
Saturated with horror, "Hell and the Hunger" is a dark fantasy that manages to keep its feet firmly planted in reality with complex characters that maintain their human element even when skipping across dimensions or challenging the grip of time. Joe is the vampire. There are none like him in the world. He has been walking this earth for tens of thousands of years and each of them weighs on him. If he had the will power he would just stop feeding in the hope that he could actually end his suffering, but he just isn’t strong enough. Having lost his love of the hunt, Joe is reduced to combing bars for drunken women to feed on and gaining no joy from his sustenance. Then he meets her.
Evelyn is an enigma. Lacking the emptiness that normally sits behind the eyes of the humans Joe hunts; she intrigues him, challenges him, and disrupts his melancholy routine. She leads him on a journey that leaves him battered, burned, and nearly dead. By the time he recovers – with the aid of an old priest – Evelyn has been taken. Joe will have to battle to the center of Hell and back to save the one thing in this Universe worth living for.
“Everybody is welcome to pop in, listen to the reading, and mingle with the rest of the crowd. If people do want to purchase a book, they should head over to the website and fill out an R.S.V.P. form. I don’t want to run out of books and reserved copies will be reserved,” Reynolds said. The form can be found here: http://www.themikereynolds.com/book-launch-rsvp.html.
Mike Reynolds is the author of “Lake of Dragons” and “Hell and the Hunger,” as well as numerous short stories and poems. He has spent the last twenty years in direct marketing, print, and communication. Mike is fascinated by history, belief systems, the human condition and how all of those things work together to define who we are as a people. The world is a wonder and based on the history of us, it is a wonder that we have a world left to wonder about.
Reynolds is available for interviews and appearances. For booking presentations, media appearances, interviews, and/or book-signings contact mike@themikereynolds.com.
