Special Boston area Film Screening of Ways to Live Forever to Benefit Supporting Cancer Organizations
Los Angeles, CA, July 29, 2014 --(PR.com)-- World Wide Motion Pictures Corporation (formerly OTCBB:WWMO) will be presenting a special Boston-area screening of the award-winning film Ways to Live Forever. Based on British author Sally Nicholls’ best-selling novel, the surprisingly uplifting story centers on Sam, a spunky 12-year-old leukemia patient, and his best friend/fellow-patient, Felix. Together, they set out to achieve their dreams and despite dealing with illness, learn some inspirational lessons about family, friends, and the oddities of life.
The Tuesday, September 23, event will take place at the historic Somerville Theatre (55 Davis Square, Somerville, MA) at 7 p.m. Tickets are $12 and can be purchased in advance through the Somerville Theatre or at the box office on the day of the event. A portion of the proceeds go to benefit the Boston area chapter of the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society (LLS), along with other cancer foundations and pediatric hospitals. Following successful premieres in Europe and Asia, the film was released in the U.S. last year by World Wide in partnership with LLS (http://lls.org), the world’s largest voluntary health agency dedicated to blood cancer, to raise further awareness of children’s cancers.
“Ways to Live Forever is a poignant film that illustrates how a boy and his family cope with leukemia,” states Sharon Klein, Executive Director of LLS Massachusetts. “This film is especially relevant today, because of the fact that more than 310,000 people are living with or in remission from Leukemia in the United States. LLS exists to find cures and ensure access to the best available treatments for all blood cancers. We will continue our fight until we live in a world without blood cancer.”
The film has garnered awards from around the world, including the Chicago International Children’s Film Festival’s Adult Jury Prize, Best Picture at the Bordeaux International Festival of Women in Cinema, the Heartland Film Festival Audience Award, and Best Feature Film from the European Children’s Film Association.
Ways to Live Forever stars critically acclaimed actors Ben Chaplin (The Thin Red Line, The Truth About Cats & Dogs), Greta Scacchi (The Player, Emma), Robbie Kay (ABC’s “Once Upon A Time,” Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides), Alex Etel (The Water Horse), Emilia Fox (“Pride And Prejudice”), and Ella Purnell (Maleficent, Intruders, Never Let Me Go).
