Third Annual Slow Food Santa Cruz Edible Gardens Tour - August 23, 2014
Santa Cruz, CA, July 31, 2014 --(PR.com)-- The third annual Slow Food Santa Cruz Edible Gardens Tour will be held Saturday, August 23, 2014, and $10 tickets are now on sale at http://www.brownpapertickets.com/event/786426. This event is a unique opportunity for residents of the greater Santa Cruz area to tour local edible gardens, both residential and public. Edible garden tourists will discover gardens that represent many stages and styles, from elaborate showcase gardens to functional do-it-yourself gardens. Slow Food Santa Cruz hopes that this annual event will continually inspire gardeners and neighbors to share and learn about the art of growing delicious vegetables and fruits at home. This year’s tour will feature an assortment of demonstrations and activities throughout the day, including gray water system tours, tips on organic and water-wise gardening in a drought year, children's garden activities, restaurant gardens, and nonprofits using gardens for healing and education. Edible garden tourists will also spot chickens, quails, and alpacas.
