Mobile Safety Accessories Forms Partnership with Chinese Manufacturer
Mobile Safety Accessories LLC a Michigan-based electronics company has partnered with a major Chinese electronics supplier to bring a low cost, high quality back up camera to the masses.
Flint, MI, July 31, 2014 --(PR.com)-- Mobile Safety Accessories LLC, with offices in the Flint and Detroit area of Michigan has partnered with a Chinese manufacturing company by investing an undisclosed amount.
"By publicly partnering with our manufacturer, It is really just formalizing a partnership that has been ongoing for years," said Dave Forrest Co-Owner of Mobile Safety Accessories. "We have designed mirrors here in Michigan for years, and have co-operated in the development of enhanced mirrors for other electronics companies. Now that we are able to operate independently, we wanted to insure that we have the proper input , and sourcing with the manufacturing side for years to come."
Apart from the need to insure manufacturing for their current premium enhanced mirrors, Mobile Safety Accessories also is in the process of manufacturing a lower cost mirror, that they believe may be disruptive to the market.
"Every year there are thousands of accidents where a child is run over by their parents, or other family member," said Dave Forrest. "These accidents are both terrible and preventable. That is the reason that the government has decided that backup cameras should be included in all new vehicles. Unfortunately, the law has been delayed several times, and it looks like 2018 is the soonest it will be enacted. That is why when our manufacturer was in last week, we decided to hash out a plan for a safe, high quality backup camera, at the lowest possible price."
The company hopes to ship the new mirror within the next month, and the expected price is $120.00
When asked about the new mirror product Dave Forrest replied, "When we first started this company, I wanted to make the most advanced rear view mirrors ever made, and I believe we do, but as we started to dig deeper and look at the market as a whole, we realized that the lower priced mirrors out there have a lot of dangerous safety and operational flaws.
"It makes you think, who is buying these cheap mirrors and why, and we concluded that it is most likely young mothers, and young people in general, The very people that we want to have backup cameras in the first place. So we set out to make a high quality, and safety centered mirror, at the lowest possible price.
"So we researched what it would take to strip everything out of our mirrors, except the hi-res screen and backup camera, and still make it an incredibly safe mirror. With 4mm safety glass, simple operation, and all of the environmental and crash testing that insures it exceeds all automotive safety standards."
