Findable Set to Transform Local Shopping and Mobile Commerce in India
Delhi, India, August 02, 2014 --(PR.com)-- Inter Mobile Ventures today announced the launch of the Findable Android app, the next evolution in mobile commerce for India.
Developed after detailed research into the Indian consumer behavior, the Findable app takes convenience to a different level for the Indian shopper. By bringing together the offline store inventories of over 600 retailers across India onto its mobile and web platform, Findable allows users to find products in stores near them, or even browse what’s new in stores near them.
The app is currently focused on providing the best experience to users in South and Central Delhi though its has products and stores listed from across India. To make the local shopping experience even more convenient, Findable is also allowing users in South and Central Delhi to get these products delivered to them from the local, nearby stores. It plans to expand this service to other areas of Delhi and eventually other retail hubs in India such as Mumbai, Bangalore, Pune, Hyderabad, Chennai, Chandigarh and Ahmedabad.
“We are thrilled to be launching an app that we think can really add value to the Indian shopper,” said Anirudh Suri, founder and CEO of Findable. “Our aim and mission is to make local shopping and commerce as easy as e-commerce has become in India and other parts of the world. And we believe that the mobile platform and other technologies provide users and physical retailers an unprecedented opportunity to connect more easily than before. And the Findable app is one step in facilitating local commerce over the mobile.”
Findable attempts to recreate the ease and convenience associated with e-commerce in the context of local commerce as well, in two ways: one, it brings the store inventory of offline retailers online; and two, it allows for users to order products from the convenience of their homes or even on-the-go and benefit from easy and quick delivery from nearby stores.
Findable is already driving greater footfalls to the physical stores of over 500 of India's top retailers and brands, including large national retailers and brands such as Bebe, Mango, AND by Anita Dongre, Gucci, Wills Lifestyle, Croma, E-Zone, Nokia, Dell, Puma, Sony, Estee Lauder, Unilever, Godrej, Aditya Birla Group, Madura Brands, Future Group, Reliance Brands, and others.
Indian consumers today are browsing online a lot more than they are buying online. Out of over 150-160 million users, only 15-20 million are actually transacting online for products (excluding travel). The remaining 140 million users are today playing games, spending time on social media, searching, browsing and looking up products. In the process, their offline purchases are being influenced by the internet. As Google and Nielsen studies have suggested that between 40 and 70% of in-store purchasers have searched or browsed online before walking into the store. It is these users who Findable hopes to drive to the physical stores of its retail partners.
