The Philadelphia Business Journal selected Furia Rubel as one of the winners of its 2014 Corporate Giving awards, presented at the publication’s celebratory event on July 24, 2014 at the Union League of Philadelphia. The award recognizes the commitment of the agency and its team members to support worthy causes with their time and talents.
Furia Rubel was honored in the Hands-On Initiatives category, joining fellow nominees such as First Federal of Bucks County, Stradley Ronan Stevens & Young LLP, KPMG LLP and Deloitte LLP.
"I’m proud that we’ve created a lasting culture of social responsibility here at Furia Rubel,” said Gina F. Rubel, Esq. president and CEO of Furia Rubel. "Our philanthropic endeavors are their own reward, but it’s always nice to be recognized, especially if it might help encourage greater support of these causes.”
Furia Rubel and its team members give back to community causes in many ways, including pro bono work on behalf of nonprofits including Habitat for Humanity of Bucks County, the Philadelphia Bar Foundation, the Bucks County Opportunity Council, and Philadelphia Volunteers for the Indigent (Philly VIP).
The award from the Philadelphia Business Journal honored a program of 10 projects the agency implemented over the course of one year, from launching an “adopt-a-road” cleanup program in its hometown, to sponsoring a food drive and open house at a local homeless shelter, to serving meals at The Philadelphia Ronald McDonald House.
The Philadelphia Business Journal's Corporate Giving Summit brought together the region's leading business and civic leaders to share insight about and recognize the philanthropic efforts that make the Philadelphia region a great place to work and live.
