Richmond, VA, August 02, 2014 --(PR.com)-- What: The kickoff event for 2014 Richmond Walk Now for Autism Speaks will take place on Thursday, August 7, 2014. The kickoff is a free informative meeting for those interested in learning about Autism Speaks and participating in its signature fundraising event, Walk Now for Autism Speaks.
All members of the community are invited to attend to learn how they can spread awareness about the increasing prevalence of autism and raise much needed funds for Autism Speaks’ research, advocacy and family services programs. Participants can pick up Walk materials, share team building and fundraising ideas and meet with committee members.
This year’s Richmond Walk Now for Autism Speaks event will take place on Saturday, September 27, 2014. The regional Walk events bring together hundreds of thousands of individuals with autism, their families, friends and supporters annually across North America.
Who: Organizers of the Richmond Walk Now for Autism Speaks, families and friends of people with autism in the greater Richmond, Virginia area.

For the eighth consecutive year, Toys“R”Us® and Babies“R”Us® proudly serve as the national sponsors of Walk Now for Autism Speaks. Toys“R”Us® is also the largest corporate partner of Autism Speaks. Since the partnership began in 2007, Toys“R”Us® has helped Autism Speaks receive more than $18 million through in-store and online fundraising campaigns, donations from both the Toys“R”Us® Children’s Fund and Toys“R”Us®, Inc. and the efforts of employees who volunteer to raise additional funds at Walk Now for Autism Speaks events across the country.
