Murphy Distributors and Pasta Cosi Celebrate "Christmas in August" for Charity

New Haven, CT, August 06, 2014 --(PR.com)-- Murphy Distributors prides itself on being a conscientious corporation, and has an admirable record of involvement and assistance with local charitable organizations. Involvement with Special Olympics and Branford Tip-a-Cop are yearly commitments. The company donates annually to over 100 charities through tastings and direct donations. A division of the company “Buy Wine, Help CT” gives to local families in the community that are in need.

"Charities and fundraisers always seem to focus around the holidays," said company president Matthew Murphy. "Truth is that when a family is in need, they are in need all year long, not just around the holidays. It was through this realization that 'Christmas in August' was born."

Murphy Distributors is hosting a hard lemonade campaign in August at Pasta Cosi in Branford. For every bottle of Lotus Lemonade that Pasta Cosi uses during the month of August, Murphy Distributors & Pasta Cosi will co-donate a portion of the proceeds and sponsor a Shoreline family to provide needed food, clothing and assistance.

"We are all about getting behind charity events such as this," said Bill DiLegge, owner of Pasta Cosi. "This is a great one. We are delighted to be involved with Murphy Distributors to help Shoreline families in need and will support it in any way we can," DiLegge added.

Lotus Lemonade is a great summer cocktail and is available in regular and gluten free varieties.

"Sometimes the sudden loss of a job or an illness in the family will create a hardship that they can't get out from under," said Murphy. "We want to able to help families in crisis work to maintain a stable home environment for their children."

Murphy Distributors is challenging other area business to become involved in similar ways. Those who are interested in participating should:

1. Determine the size of the family (members) you wish to adopt/sponsor.
2. Determine whether you would like to deliver items directly to your sponsored family or remain anonymous.
