Bible Gets Digital Makeover for Kids
Bible App for Kids now available in Spanish.
Pompano Beach, FL, August 09, 2014 --(PR.com)-- Two innovative market leaders are reigniting children’s love of Scripture by invading the digital world. Merging technology with the best-selling book of all time, the Bible App for Kids became available for free download beginning November 2013 for the more than 1 billion active smartphone users around the world.
“La Bible App para Ninos will be a great resource for Hispanic families to engage in God’s Word together. I’m so excited about this launch and the work OneHope is doing,” said Rev. Samuel Rodriguez, President, National Hispanic Christian Leadership Conference (NHCLC).
The app has already been downloaded nearly 3.5 million times and is now available in Spanish. With 350 million native Spanish speakers on 4 continents and 21 nations who declare it their native language, the impact of the Spanish translation will be incredible.
Developed by YouVersion—creator of the most popular Bible app of all time—in partnership with OneHope—an international ministry that is changing lives by sharing Scripture with children and youth around the world—the Bible App for Kids has the potential to reach millions of children around the globe.
“It just made so much sense for OneHope—who is all about engaging children with the Word of God—and YouVersion—whose Bible app has been downloaded more than 150 million times—to work together to develop the Bible App for Kids,” said Rob Hoskins, co-founder of the app. “This is a game changer. And one I’m really excited about.”
With 15 fully animated Bible stories, the app includes touch-activated animations and activities to help children ages 4 – 10 remember what they learn. New stories will be added regularly, and the content will always be free.
The Bible App for Kids will also make it possible to reach children in countries where evangelism is difficult, but where smart phones are prevalent.
“The time has finally arrived. La Biblia app para Niños is building the digital city of God,” said Ricardo Luna, President of Confraternidad Evangélica Latina (CONELA). “Jesus is now present in the cloud.”
To download the app, visit www.onehope.net/bibleappforkidsespanol. Current Bible App for Kids users can simply visit the language settings on the app to access the Spanish version.
In 2014, OneHope reached its billionth child—a young girl in China—with a relevant Gospel message. This year OneHope will reach nearly one hundred million additional young people with Scripture programs that are age- and culturally- specific based on research it conducts among children and youth, leaders and educators in each country it works. Since 1987, OneHope has helped kids experience God’s Story by collaborating with churches and ministries—and working with local governments, schools and non-governmental organizations—by bringing a message of Hope to children and youth in more than 100 countries. www.OneHope.net
