Triangle Distributor Expands Beer Selection with Handcrafted Brands from Carrboro, North Carolina.
Raleigh, NC, August 13, 2014 --(PR.com)-- Mims Distributing Company, a beer distributor servicing a nine-county area in and around the Triangle, has announced the addition of Carrboro, North Carolina-based Starpoint Brewing to its roster of brewer partners.
Known for local handcrafted beer, Starpoint filled its first orders in July 2012 and is led by Tim Harper. A homebrewer for several years, Harper started Starpoint to provide high quality, locally produced, fresh craft beer to the Triangle. Starpoint’s most popular brew, the “Surfin’ Buddha,” is a different take on traditional IPA-style beers, with a moderately bitter taste that is built on five malts and four hop varieties.
Starpoint’s success is another example of how the craft beer industry continues to explode in North Carolina. The Research Triangle area specifically is gaining recognition as one of the nation’s top beer regions, with a growing beer culture and number of craft breweries. With the help of Mims, Starpoint plans to expand over the next few years to increase production to satisfy the demand of Mims’ distribution area.
