MindMeister Brings Real-Time Collaboration to Your iPhone

Munich, Germany, August 14, 2014 --(PR.com)-- MindMeister’s newly introduced engine allows for real-time collaboration, a key feature of the web app, which had been missing from its native iOS complement until now. “If a collaborator makes changes in a shared mind map on their iOS device, all other collaborators can now see those changes instantly, whether they’re in front of a computer, an iPad or iPhone,” explained Till Vollmer, Managing Director at MeisterLabs, the company behind MindMeister. This is a huge step especially for the mobility of teams as it enables them to collaboratively brainstorm ideas and plan projects with clients while on the go.

“Obviously real-time collaboration is a killer feature in this new version,” said Till Vollmer, “but many of our existing users will probably be most excited about the new undo/redo feature, which they already know from our web solution. One of the biggest challenges when it comes to mobile mind mapping is speed,” he explained further. “On the small screen, everything takes a little longer, which can obstruct the free flow of ideas and take a toll on users’ productivity. We’re looking to counteract this by focusing on features that will actively improve the app’s efficiency. Undo/redo is one such feature. Seemingly not much more than a simple button, it greatly enhances ease-of-use and enables a more efficient mind mapping process.”

With the latest update MeisterLabs also introduced map templates to its iOS app. “Instead of having to create every new mind map from scratch, users can choose from a variety of prefabricated maps, which they can use as a starting point for their mapping session.” Templates are available for business uses such as project plans, SWOT analyses and website creation; for educational uses such as lesson planning or exam preparation, and for personal uses such as wedding planning, travelling or house renovation.

Other new features include push notifications, which improve the app’s task management functionality, folder and map search, as well as additional import and export options and formats. A selection of fresh map themes and a library of high resolution icons facilitate beautiful customization possibilities.
