Kandi Parsons is a senior attorney with the Division of Privacy and Identity Protection in Bureau of Consumer Protection, at the Federal Trade Commission in Washington, D.C. Kandi works on a variety of policy and litigation matters involving the privacy and security of consumer information. She investigates and prosecutes violations of consumer privacy and information security under Section 5 of the FTC Act, the Fair Credit Reporting Act and the Safeguards and Privacy Rules of the Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act. She is also one of the privacy attorneys handling enforcement of the COPPA Rule. Before joining the FTC, Kandi was an associate with Hogan Lovells, specializing in health care privacy, and served as a law clerk to the Honorable John Steadman of the District of Columbia Court of Appeals. Kandi received her BA from Columbia University and her JD from the Georgetown University Law Center.
