Millions of Plants to be Planted by Dera Sacha Sauda on Independence Day

Sirsa (Haryana), India, August 16, 2014 --(PR.com)-- Dera Sacha Sauda, the social welfare & spiritual organization based in Sirsa, Haryana (India), has consistently conducted simultaneous Tree Plantation Drives across the world, every year on 15th August, since past 5 years. On the occasion of the National Independence Day and the birthday of the Dera’s present master, Revered Saint Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh Ji Insan, Dera Sacha Sauda conducts a Mega Tree Plantation Drive called “Nature Campaign.” Dera is targeting to add up some more million trees this year to the existing fauna across the globe, so as to save the Earth from pollution and increasing global warming. With this drive, Dera Sacha Sauda envisions to provide maximum oxygen into the environment and reduce the air pollution.

As we all know, trees help conserve soil and water, control avalanches, prevent desertification, protect coastal areas and stabilize sand dunes. In addition, they absorb carbon dioxide and store nearly 300 gigatonnes of carbon in their biomass alone. So, growing more plants is the utmost need of hour in today’s technology driven world. Revered Saint Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh Ji Insan always encourages the society for such causes that are for the prosperity of humanity and nature. The idea behind this drive is to make the environment green and healthy so our upcoming generations can live a better life.

The first mega tree plantation drive by Dera Sacha Sauda was held on 15th August 2009 and a total of 6,873,451 trees was planted across the globe. Since then, 15th August is celebrated as Tree Plantation Day by the followers of Dera Sacha Sauda across the globe. The drive is inaugurated by Revered Guru Ji in Sirsa by planting saplings and then the volunteers & members of Shah Satnam Ji Green 'S' Welfare Force Wing, (a humanitarian force led by Dera Sacha Sauda) spread all around the nation & abroad, plant trees simultaneously within a stipulated time frame. The drive is generally conducted from 9 am to 5 pm. The most interesting fact is that this drive is not restricted to India only. The volunteers of Dera Sacha Sauda plant trees throughout the globe, including foreign nations like Canada, New Zealand, Australia, United Kingdom, USA, Italy etc.

Following the series, the 6th Mega Tree Plantation Drive will be organized this year also on 15th August 2014 and will be initiated from Dera Sacha Sauda’s main Ashram in Sirsa with Revered Saint Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh Ji Insan planting few saplings. With the extraordinary numbers of tree plantation being achieved by Dera Sacha Sauda every year, all the eyes are on this year’s upcoming digits.

It is worth mentioning that Dera Sacha Sauda has created a Guinness World Record for planting 6,873,451 trees in 8 hours by 169,920 volunteers on 15th August 2009. The second record was made on 15th August 2011, for planting total 1,945,535 plants simultaneously in just one hour by 340,250 volunteers in 408 locations all over the world. This figure increased to 2,039,747 plants on 15-Aug-2012 across the globe in just one hour.

The saplings planted in this drive are also provided adequate water, nourishment and regular care until they grow on trees. The successful execution of this tree plantation, the extraordinary participation of Dera Sacha Sauda volunteers and their immense efforts for this cause can be easily demonstrated from the figures of last 5 years Tree Plantation Drives held across the world.
