The Select Group Commits to Wellness in Unique Ways
Raleigh, NC, August 17, 2014 --(PR.com)-- Sheldon Wolitski, CEO of The Select Group (TSG), recently announced TSG’s refocus and commitment to employee wellness and pledged to sponsor wellness initiatives in honor. TSG is an award winning staffing firm specializing in IT and Engineering professionals, and currently employs 167 full-time internal employees. The employees who have elected the employer-sponsored Blue Cross Blue Shield of North Carolina (BCBSNC) benefits now have easy access to a registered dietician (RD). The BCBSNC plan allows for RD visits at no cost to the employee; the company is aiding employees in taking full advantage of the plan by having an RD make regular office visits across all branches.
In addition to RD access and offering on-site yoga classes after hours, the company recently purchased Nike+ FuelBands for all employees. Nike FuelBands earn NikeFuel, which is a way to measure and track movement.
The current competition, created to encourage camaraderie and an active lifestyle, involves friendly departmental rivalry by measuring each group’s NikeFuel weekly average through the end of the quarter. The winning department will receive $1,000 to use towards healthy initiatives.
Employee Gardner Kirkland states, “I really love my FuelBand and think this is an awesome way to get employees excited about getting active. One thing I enjoy is being reminded to get up and move around each hour, especially since I get bogged down in work at my desk! I’m constantly checking my NikeFuel and strive to do my personal best because I know my team is counting on me.”
