The Mindful Center Knoxville Partners with Chattanooga-Based, Center for Mindful Living, to Offer 8 Week Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) Program
Knoxville, TN, August 19, 2014 --(PR.com)-- The Mindful Center Knoxville, a business devoted to training individuals and organizations on the skill of Mindfulness Meditation for health, healing and stress reduction is proud to announce a recent partnership with the Center for Mindful Living in Chattanooga, TN. Starting September, The Mindful Center Knoxville will be offering the 8-week Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) Program at the Center for Mindful Living in Chattanooga. The MBSR program will be open to the general public in Chattanooga and the surrounding areas.
The 8-week Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) program is modeled after Dr. Jon Kabat-Zinn’s MBSR program founded at the UMass Medical School Center for Mindfulness in Medicine, Healthcare, and Society. In addition to the 8-week MBSR program, The Mindful Center Knoxville will also be offering an “Intro Day Course to Mindfulness Meditation,“ as well as various “Lunch & Learn” sessions geared for local business and organizations. All programs will be hosted by the Center for Mindful Living in the Chattanooga area.
Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) is an 8-week program that teaches individuals how to cultivate and increase their self-awareness, body-awareness, emotional regulation, and attention regulation. “I am honored to be teaching at the Center for Mindful Living,” stated Claudio Barrientos, Director and Lead Instructor at The Mindful Center Knoxville. “The Center for Mindful Living is a wonderful organization that is truly dedicated to growing an active base of members dedicated to building a sense of community around mindfulness and other practices. The program fee is $325 (non-members) and $300 (Center for Mindful Living members), and includes 8 weekly sessions, a day retreat, 4 CD-set of guided meditations, a course book, as well as access to the Center for Mindful Living.
