Texas Trust Gives $10,000 to GPISD Education Foundation

Mansfield, TX, August 21, 2014 --(PR.com)-- The Grand Prairie independent school district's (GPISD) Education Foundation has received $10,000 from Texas Trust Credit Union for the class of 2015. Texas Trust presented the check to the GPISD Education Foundation at the school district's convocation event, marking the start of the new school year.

Scholarships will be awarded to 20 students attending the University of Texas at Arlington. Each student will receive $500 toward tuition or books. Student scholarship recipients will be selected by the Grand Prairie Education Foundation in the spring of 2015.

"Texas Trust is helping bring Dr. Carolyn Wicker's dream alive," said Bernie Ponzio, incoming president of the GPISD Education Foundation, speaking of the current board president. "Dr. Wicker's vision for the foundation has been to provide a scholarship to every student interested in attending college."
