Muscle Shoals, AL, August 22, 2014 --(PR.com)-- Bob Cheevers Releases “On Earth As It Is In Austin”
Album features cameos by famous musicians/artists, a different Austin musician playing on one song each on the 15 songs Bob chose for the record.
Unusual? Sure, but that’s nothing new for this over-acheever. These tracks stay right with the gut of each song, true to the original feel and groove, fitted to the songs as they were written.
15 tracks, all new material, all featuring Bob’s signature vocals.
‘I don’t know if these stories are true…but they happened to me’
Of ‘Smoke & Mirrors’, folks said this:
"Cheevers is always a dependable badass" ~Walt Wilkins ~ Austin
"If you are intrigued by lines such as ‘living on the tip of this spear’ and ‘a sweet bedtime story with lime on the rim’ then you are in for a very nice ride through Bob Cheevers’ latest release, Smoke & Mirrors. Don’t let this one pass you by." ~Keith Sykes
Of ‘Tall Texas Tales’, folks said this:
"Bob Cheevers is one cool scarecrow gypsy poet who writes and sings the romantic beautiful truth. When he releases a record, I listen." ~Ray Wylie Hubbard
"This time my friend Bob turns his eagle eye on Texas, and turns a beautiful collection of expertly produced pieces of life down here. Well done bro. This thing kicks ass." ~Kevin Welch ~ Austin
Johnny Cash and Waylon Jennings have recorded his songs. When he died, Elvis had a song of Bob’s on his “to do” list. Having written over 3,000 songs with some of them on TV and in movies, Bob has toured Europe relentlessly the past 13 years doing 30-60 concerts per tour and has been a music biz professional since the late 60′s during his top-40-charting pop career in LA, being the voice on the TV theme “Love American Style” and having played gigs in just about every state in the US.
In addition to his 1999 “Gettysburg To Graceland” CD being Americana top 20, one of the results of that record was the opening spot on what was to be Johnny Cash’s final tour.

“What a pleasure to hear about Texas thru the words of Bob Cheevers… brilliant, believable artist and total entertainer.”
-Lee Duffy…Texas Songwriter’s Association, Austin Songwriters Group (Executive Director), Singer/songwriter
“'Smoke & Mirrors' continues my friend Bob Cheevers’ life’s work of looking at life with a keen eye & deep feel for the human experience. He’s never afraid to look under the skin, behind the eyes, and deep in the shadows of his own story, and others and then describing it with exacting detail of emotion. cool, spacey, unhurried production that underscores his soul & depth, too. Cheevers is always a dependable badass.”
