Aleph Group Inc.'s Mobile Medical Clinics to Serve the Rural Areas of Nigeria

In early 2013, Aleph Group Inc. was approached by Stëfolga, a multi-functional holding company, to complete a multivehicle contract from the Nigerian government. Dubbed “The Yellow Doctor” because of their brightly colored exteriors, all six of these mobile clinics will be used to provide medical services to Nigerians who live in remote areas of the country. This is a pilot program, that is already being considered for expansion, will serve as a major factor in contributing to the country’s drive to provide preventative healthcare.

Aleph Group Inc. was selected to complete this project due the decades of experience in the design and fabrication of medical vehicles, and the international experience of supplying specialty vehicles to over 12 countries.

The total design process took six weeks for completion. Aleph Group Inc. created the preliminary layout, taking into consideration special attention to weather and terrain elements. Other important elements such as type of fuel and electrical system played an important role during design process. With Stëfolga’s support and assistance, all the necessary changes were made to meet the requirements. With its all-aluminum construction and medical grade expandable interior, the mobile clinics will be able to bring high quality healthcare to those who would find and difficult or impossible to receive preventative medical care.

Using only United States materials, each 34-feet long self-motorized mobile clinic is equipped with a doctor exam area, a minor procedure room, a triage area, a restroom for obtaining lab samples, and a small lab. Manufactured in Riverside, California and shipped to Nigeria in three stages, over eighteen months, these units are self-contained; having their own power source, water, and climate. Due to the seclusion of the communities that will be served, each vehicle is equipped with special fuel and water tanks – allowing the vehicles to operate for up to a week without replenishment.
