Ventura Vintage Rods Return to Channel Islands Harbor for Harbor Run 24
More than 300 Classic Cars on Display – Free to Public
Oxnard, CA, August 23, 2014 --(PR.com)-- Hundreds of classic cars are heading to the Channel Islands Harbor for the Ventura Vintage Rods Harbor Run 24. More than 300 classic cars will be entered in Harbor Run 24 – all dating before 1975. The show will feature a variety of classic cars including shiny muscle cars from ‘57 Chevys, T-Birds, GTOs, Mustangs, and Camaros to 1930s coupes with rumble seats, along with an array of pick-up trucks ranging from the 1950s to mid-1970s are some of the classic cars that will be on display from 8 a.m. - 3 p.m. on Sept. 14 at Harborview Park in Channel Islands Harbor.
Attendance is free to the public. There is a $20 registration for community members who wish to display their vintage car at the event. Registrants are also asked to bring two canned food items to be donated to FOOD Share of Ventura County. Several trophies will be handed out, along with raffle prizes and a 50/50 drawing. All proceeds benefit local charities.
“We give 100 percent of the profits from Harbor Run back to local organizations,” said Ventura Vintage Rods’ event coordinator Charles Roark. “We’re expecting several thousand people this year, along with hundreds of unique vintage rods, classic trucks and new vendors making really good food. Come see the cars, visit the vendors and support local charities.”
Last year, the event again raised nearly $12,000. Year-round, Ventura Vintage Rods helps raise money to donate to local charities, such as Oxnard Police K9 Unit, Oxnard Fire Explorers, Turning Point Foundation, Catholic Charities Ventura and local food banks.
