IFP Films Strikes TV Development Deal with Gloversville’s Parkhurst Field Foundation
Parkhurst Field is one of the oldest continuous baseball grounds used in the Little League System and in the USA and the layers of storylines here had to be told by the baseball fanatics at IFP Films.
Gloversville, NY, August 25, 2014 --(PR.com)-- IFP Films, a leading studio for independent and branded media creation for over 24 years, today announced a TV development deal has been reached with the newly-created, non-profit: Parkhurst Field Foundation (with website currently under construction with In Focus Brands).
The Parkhurst Field Foundation was formed to help promote and preserve Parkhurst Field in Gloversville, NY, the oldest baseball grounds used by any Little League® in America.
David Karpinski, Executive Director of the Foundation, adds: “IFP Films, In Focus Brands and I have funded the venture and I have separately launched the Parkhurst Field Foundation, a non-profit organization whose mission it is to chronicle its rich history dating back to its opening in 1906. In addition to promoting its historic significance through media and events, our goal is to attain grants and donations to fund the revitalization and preservation of the park's infrastructure to ensure its sustainability and to serve as a success model for other communities looking to preserve their athletic parks. It is important to note that no Gloversville Little League money will fund this film. It was evident from the first time I met Bob that he has the same passion for the game of baseball I have and I am pleased to add his companies' expertises to our great story and new mission."
The trailer production and interview phase of the schedule has started and will culminate with the August 30th event at the fields (www.parkhurstfield.org/event). The TV crew will also be conducting interviews around Gloversville on August 28 and 29th. Casting calls for voiceover and on-camera talent will be announced, “selfie” opportunities to tell baseball and little league stories plus a series of fundraising programs from In Focus Brands are all slated for the Fall.
Bob Manasier, Producer/Director of IFP Films, states: “We decided to co-develop this program and add it to our growing slate of original productions because of the plethora of positive storylines about the integrating power of sports, the great melting pot history of America encapsulated at these fields, the commitment and passion that Dave and his group bring to this and to further utilize our affiliations to build a turnkey system through In Focus Brands for other communities to build economic development on.”
