Ventura County Public Works Agency Commemorates Completion of West Alley Paving with Ribbon Cutting

Somis, CA, August 29, 2014 --(PR.com)-- Ventura County Supervisor Linda Parks, Ventura County Public Works Agency Director of Water and Sanitation Reddy Pakala, and the Ventura County Waterworks District 19 (VCWWD #19) Advisory Board, will join other dignitaries for a ribbon-cutting ceremony celebrating the completion of the West Alley paving as part of the VCWWD #19 Water Pipelines Replacement Project on Wednesday, Sept. 3.

The paving of the pot-holed dirt alley has been long-desired by local Somis residents and Post Office customers. The project is a part of the multi-year Infrastructure Improvement Program, which is funded through a $5 million low-interest loan from the US Department of Agriculture in 2014.

The ongoing project consists of replacing existing water pipelines that are more than 50 years old with 9,800-feet of new water lines. A new blending station at Well 4 was constructed to facilitate the blending of the local well water with the imported State water, which will improve the water quality and reduce the salt level for customers.
