Atkinson Takes Reigns at Global PR Firm
New leadership at Global PR
Burbank, CA, October 26, 2007 --(PR.com)-- Tad Atkinson announced today that he has resigned his executive position with Great Ideas Entertainment and will turn his focus to publicity. While with GIE, Atkinson executive produced Second Chance and the feature film Foursome, to be released at Blockbuster in May. Atkinson had served as the VP of Development for the past year, having assumed the post in July of ’06.
Great Ideas’ CEO, Rich Owens, whose company recently signed a multi-picture deal, and has several projects in active development, has said the position will probably not be filled until next year.
“Tad is a very dear friend and we wish him the absolute best in his new endeavor,” said Owens.
A graduate of Ball State University, Atkinson holds a masters degree, and has over thirty-six years experience in the acting world, having been an original protégé of Josh Logan, Atkinson has performed on both stage and in film, and is a veteran teacher of the profession for many years.
Atkinson is also set to co-produce the feature film “Be Careful What You Wish For” in 2008, with Bruce Goldwell, the co-author of Mastery of Abundant Living. “Be careful” is a Paradream production.
Atkinson, now the director of Global PR, located in Burbank, will focus on entertainment related publicity, Specializing in film and movie public relations, press and promotions for actors, models, singers, and comedians, and helping to develop and implement strategic marketing campaigns for industry professionals.
Gina Best, of Glendale, who met Atkinson while in his position with GIE, established Global PR in 2006. “Our hope is now to build our boutique size firm into something larger, representing creative and productive industry professionals, who work hard and keep busy, thus giving us much to publicize,” says Best.
