Kiddie Run Sponsored by The Gateway Family YMCA
The Gateway Family YMCA presents a Kiddie Run as part of the Union Township Chamber’s Fourth Annual Mayor’s Day Run.
Union, NJ, September 01, 2014 --(PR.com)-- Promoting healthy fun for all ages, The Gateway Family YMCA is sponsoring a Kiddie Run for grades K – 5 at the Cooke Memorial Football Field at the Union High School at 9am on September 20, as part of the Union Township Chamber of Commerce’s Fourth Annual Mayor’s Day Run/5K. Registration for children begins at 8:00am, and the cost to participate is $5. All applicants must register that morning at the field, on Cooke Drive in Union.
A portion of the proceeds will got to benefit a local resident, three-year-old Aiden Khi Shanklin of Union, who was diagnose with several neurological conditions a few months after his birth. “The Gateway Family YMCA is excited to support this local event and is excited for the opportunity to involve children in the day’s events, while supporting such a worthy cause,” stated Paul Mickiewicz, Branch Executive Director of The Gateway Family YMCA – Wellness Center Branch. The day will also feature a 5K Run, presented by the Union County Chamber of Commerce. A host of YMCA staff and volunteers will be on hand throughout the day to help with the activities. The YMCA encourages events that promote health and fitness throughout the community. The Gateway Family YMCA is more than a gym. It’s a cause.
