Youngstown Music Awards to Benefit CreativeBridge Coalition
Organizers of the Youngstown Music Awards will share proceeds from upcoming event with music-oriented non-profit.
Youngstown, OH, September 02, 2014 --(PR.com)-- The Youngstown Music Awards organization has chosen CreativeBridge Coalition as a recipient for its first annual awards ceremony on November 30 at the Rodeo Music Hall in Austintown, OH. Fans are invited to vote for their favorite local musicians/bands among numerous categories and YMA’s creator, Michael Kermec, has organized an evening of local talent surrounding the award presentations.
The choice of CreativeBridge Coalition (CBC) as a partner charity seemed logical to Bill Bodine, co-founder of CBC and musical native of the Youngstown area. “My CBC partner, Dan Marshall, and I have a history in the area’s local music evolution. Dan had been in the New Hudson Exit and Roadshow and I played with the Citations before we joined forces to create Brainchild – a band that had a very real presence in the area in the early 1970s. Decades later, Dan and I have worked hard to create a non-profit that connects music-based programs with special needs kids, and we’re proud of our decision to focus a part of our work in the Mahoning Valley. We’re grateful to Michael Kermec for all he’s doing to promote the Valley’s long tradition of music and for his decision to include CBC in the mix.”
