Leading experts in the field of post-production will be introducing new technology in a classroom style setting that allows for hands-on learning and gives editors the opportunity to improve on their craft.

Burbank, CA, September 08, 2014 --(PR.com)-- The Editors’ Lounge returns from summer hiatus on Friday, September 26th with presentations from Avid, EditShare and AlterMedia. Leading experts in the field of post-production will be introducing new technology in a classroom style setting that allows for hands-on learning and gives editors the opportunity to improve on their craft. AlphaDogs Post Production hosts the event at 1612 W. Olive Ave., Burbank, CA 91506 beginning at 6:30 pm. The cost to attend is to bring your favorite beverage. RSVP is required to attend.

Avid’s Solution Specialist Michael Krulik will be showing the new features in the latest version of Avid Media Composer v8.1, including the Avid Image Sequencer for DPX files, new trimming and copy tools in the timeline and how to create multiple audio mix downs along with many more features. The evening will also include a sneak peek of the new features Avid is currently developing for future versions of Media Composer as well as the latest on Avid Everywhere.

EditShare’s Jesse Adams will be on hand to demonstrate the very latest releases from EditShare including Storage v7 and the Flow v3.1 media asset management platform. EditShare Storage v7 is the company's biggest shared storage release to date. Built on the newest, high-performance Linux kernel, EditShare Storage v7 is the most advanced shared storage platform, delivering higher stream counts, higher total throughput and smoother operation than ever before. New features include a Quality of Service (QoS) system that reserves bandwidth for high-priority activities such as real-time capture or playout and limits the bandwidth of low-priority activities; EditShare Connect “Project Profiles,” the ability to remember which spaces need to be displayed and/or mounted for different projects; support for Active Directory Single Sign On (SSO); a system status indicator; and localization support for virtually any language. In addition, EditShare Storage v7 lets Final Cut Pro X workgroups use AFP-mounted spaces as SAN Volumes, giving editors the ability to store FCP X “Libraries”, “Events” and “Projects” on central storage. The brand new Flow v3.1 release includes support for Advanced Authoring Format (AAF) import, opening up a number of critical workflow functions for Avid editors including management of metadata created in Avid for a complete round-trip metadata workflow, individual restore of archived clips based on AAF file metadata and instant proxy creation and playback of sequences. Sequences can be cut in Avid and then imported into Flow (via AAF), matching up with the existing proxy files.

Joel Stoner, CEO and founder of AlterMedia, will be demonstrating Studio Suite Xi, the company’s newly redesigned studio management software. With Studio Suite Xi, AlterMedia is simplifying the processes necessary to run, organize and manage production and post-production studios. Studio Suite Xi is an entirely new build, extensible to the web, iOS devices and the desktop. A redesigned, elegant user interface creates a new user experience, focused on simplicity and clarity, and delivering features and workflows that eliminate the tedium and stress of managing contacts, resources, schedules, budgets, and the thousands of details that quickly become unwieldy when managing the daily business of production and post-production services.
