August 16, 2014 impacted many lives. The Summer Night Sky Fashion Lupus Benefit was an evening of elegance and empowerment. An event that made a difference in many lives, from the members of the Lupus Foundation, NJ Chapter to the models that never experienced the catwalk. Everyone played their part in support of The Lupus Foundation.
The Summer Night Sky Fashion Lupus Benefit was about promoting awareness about the horrible disease called “Lupus.”
It was a platform to showcase in style, featuring 9 Fashion and Accessory Designers, 34 Models, Beauty Teams and Stylists and bring awareness to issues that affect all of us. The audience was entertained by the sounds of new R&B Artist, Eric G. Garzon, the evenings ambiance was captured by our media pit of 12 photographers and a host of sponsors, fashion magazine editors, including Sterling Johnson, Fashion World Magazine, Le’Shaun Jenice, LaJe Professionals and Gherald Alaman, CEO, TalentandSkills Team.

Lupus is a chronic, autoimmune disease that can damage any part of the body (skin, joints and/or organs inside the body). Normally our immune system produces proteins called antibodies that protect the body from foreign substances, like bacteria and viruses. With lupus, your immune system cannot tell the difference between these foreign invaders and your body's healthy tissues and creates autoantibodies ("auto" means "self") to attack and destroy healthy tissue. These autoantibodies cause inflammation, pain, and damage in various parts of the body. Lupus affects men, women and children.
