The Gateway Family YMCA Rahway Branch Offers Sneak Peek Construction Tours

Rahway, NJ, September 09, 2014 --(PR.com)-- The Gateway Family YMCA – Rahway Branch is approaching the end of a $3.2 million dollar, 16,938 square foot renovation of the Y, located at 1564 Irving Street, Rahway. The public is invited to visit the YMCA on Saturday, September 13 from 1:00pm-3:00pm for an exclusive tour of the construction progress. Lindsay Sudia, Membership Engagement Director of The Gateway Family YMCA – Rahway Branch added, “We are excited to share an exclusive look at the progress we have made in the renovations on our branch.”

“We are in the process of planning the additional programs and services we will be able to offer with the expanded facility,” stated Gerry Gessie, Branch Executive Director at The Gateway Family YMCA – Rahway Branch, “The renovations have afforded us a unique opportunity to serve more of the local community.” Renovations to the Rahway facility include the restoration of 3 floors damaged by fire, as well as the addition of multi-purpose program space and Artists Lofts that are available for rental.

The Gateway Family YMCA – Rahway Branch is planning expanded hours beginning October 27th, as well as additional programs and services as renovated areas become available for program use. Additional free weight and cardiovascular equipment have been ordered for the Y, providing the ability to serve more members. “The planned sneak peek tours of the construction area gives us the ability to showcase the current stage in renovations, allowing the public to see how far we have come, and also to envision what is to be completed in the near future,” stated Ed Soder, Associate Executive Director at the Rahway Branch.
