The Tesla Group Announces La Gringa Tacqueria to Launch Kickstarter Campaign to Renovate New Manhattan Location
Tex-Mex eatery will raise funds to enclose their backyard in efforts to host year round community events.
New York, NY, September 11, 2014 --(PR.com)-- Brooklyn’s La Gringa tacqueria will launch a Kickstarter campaign September 11, 2014 to help secure funds for the renovation and enclosure of their new Manhattan restaurant, located in the West Village. Secured funds for renovation will include an enclosure of La Gringa's backyard patio, which will be used to host year round community-based events.
Established in 2012 by Henry Fernandez and Adalis Velez, La Gringa is an East Willamsburg hot-spot known for its fusion of traditional Mexican cuisine with Caribbean influences. The healthy and sustainable cuisines are Eco and Vegan friendly, and have quickly become the go-to spot for local families, foodies, and tourists visiting the historic Willamsburg area. Guests also have opportunities to experience cultural and recreational events at La Gringa through their free weekly “Backyard Movie Nights”, to local toy drives, holiday events, and ping pong games. La Gringa's twist on the traditional tex-mex experience also showcases local Brooklyn artists' work through art exhibitions and murals displayed throughout La Gringa's restaurant and backyard in their Brooklyn location.
La Gringa prides itself on creating a one of a kind neighboring experience infusing art, culture, and food for East Williamsburg residents, and hopes to continue this legacy with the help of Kickstarter. "Having support from Kickstarter backers means the world to us. We want to continue hosting free events for our guests that embody great food, art, and culture in a much more accessible way," says Adalis Velez and Henry Fernandez.
La Gringa tacqueria hopes to raise $17,500 to help with the reconstruction of their Manhattan location's backyard patio to be able to host community events for children and adults in the area. Backers will get their names listed on La Gringa's honorary Kickstarter page on their website. La Gringa has also teamed up with local artists to design souvenirs for the campaign's backers, such as tote bags, t-shirts, magnets and coffee mugs. Prizes for backers who pledge $249 and more include: a private movie night at La Gringa, a burrito brunch for the backer and their friends, a free meal per day for a year, and special invitations to private events. The La Gringa Kickstarter campaign will be live throughout the month of September. To make a donation, please visit www.kickstarter.com/projects/2100607461/769218772?token=33473a1c.
