Chevrolet Show Cars Coming to Dallas/Ft Worth

Dallas, TX, September 10, 2014 --(PR.com)-- The Corvette/Chevy Expo will roll back into the Dallas Market Hall this Sept. 27-28 for the second year. The Chevy event boasts World-Class Show cars and Major National Vendors from across the country and cars for sale.

“For over 36 years, the Corvette/Chevy Expo in Houston has become one of the premier events of its kind in the United States,” said Bill Wolf, president of the Corvette/Chevy Expo. “We are delighted to expand to the Dallas/Fort Worth area for our second exhibition. With the Corvette/Chevy Expo being focused on the Chevy models, spectators enjoy shopping at the commercial vendors' booths as well as seeing some spectacular show cars."

This event has an incredibly diversified assortment of Chevrolet show cars you will not see at your average cruise-in. The indoor event features 30 classes in the Concours. Show cars and trucks include stock, modified, and customs or all years and models. After judges scrutinized the show vehicles on the Expo's Show Floor, four “Best of Show” awards are presented on Sunday afternoon, "Best of Show Corvette," "Best of Show Camaro," "Best of Show Chevy," "Best of Show Chevy Truck" as well "People's Choice Award" and "Best of Show Display."

During the weekend, four historical Corvettes will be judged for the Vette Vues Magazine "Tri-Power Award.” In order to receive this prestigious national award, these cars must meet a stringent criterion for originality and authentic preservation.

One of the most notable Corvettes on display is a Corvette called the Astrovette once owned by Apollo 12 astronaut Alan Bean. There were actually three matching cars. The Apollo 12 crew, Charles "Pete" Conrad Jr., Richard Gordon Jr., and Alan Bean, were a close-knit bunch and ordered three cars alike from Chevrolet. Current owner, Danny Reed, from Austin Texas brings a large display full of historical photos and information about this unique car.

The Corvette/Chevy Expo not only features show cars/trucks but also some awesome displays. Some notable show cars that will be on display this year include last year's Dallas Best of Show Corvette owned by Mike and Swoney Rodgers; Houston Best of Show Corvette owned by Deral Knight; Robert Godfrey's 1969 Chevy Chevelle SS; and Gene Sullivan's 1969 Camaro...all top-notch show cars!

Another special event that takes place on Sunday at 3 PM is the Swimsuit USA International Model search in conjunction with the Miss Corvette/Chevy Expo bikini contest. There are food concessions on site as well as cars for sale.
