Elizabeth Lake Urgent Care's Grand Opening

Waterford, MI, September 11, 2014 --(PR.com)-- Remember that Ponderosa that used to exist years ago right by Summit Mall, which also used to exist? That building has completely transformed, inside and out, and is now the home of Elizabeth Lake Urgent Care. One can stand on Elizabeth Lake Road and look to their left and right, thinking of the other medical offices in the area, no urgent cares come to mind because for a few miles, there are not any. There is an urgent care located a few miles northwest at Highland and Airport Rd. And there is another one close by, located in a hospital, but who wants to go to a hospital for their urgent care needs. So the owners of Elizabeth Lake Urgent Care feel the facility is in the perfect location – inside the walls of Waterford, to service the needs of the residents in the Township, but still close enough to Pontiac to help the needs of those in the city as well.

Two doctors came together, who also work together in their practice in Rochester Hills, called Rochester Internists, and decided to partner up in opening an urgent care in Waterford.

Dr. Fadi Demashkieh graduated from Demascus Medical School in 1984 and did his Internal Medicine training at New York Hospital-Cornell Medical Center. Following the training, he spent two years working in Emergency Medicine in Hale County, AL. Dr. Demashkieh is board certified in Internal Medicine and Urgent Care Medicine and has privileges at Crittenton and Beaumont hospitals.

Dr. Shafiqul Alam graduated from Dhaka Medical College in 1984 and obtained his PhD from Nagoya University School of Medicine in Japan in 1990, where he trained in vascular surgery. He completed his Internal Medicine residency in 1997 at the University of Medicine and Dentistry in New Jersey. Dr. Alam is board certified in Internal Medicine, is a Fellow of the American College of Physicians and has privileges at Crittenton and Beaumont hospitals.

Dr. Alam and Dr. Demashkieh share a love for the state of Michigan and the people in it and felt they could best give back to the state by opening Elizabeth Lake Urgent Care to provide a service for the health needs of the people. Both doctors wanted to open Elizabeth Lake Urgent Care in Waterford because they felt drawn to this community and believed this particular area was in need of an urgent care to service the families and workers nearby.

There was a ribbon cutting event for Elizabeth Lake Urgent Care on August 20, which was wonderfully put on by the Waterford Chamber of Commerce to help welcome the new business to the community. Elizabeth Lake Urgent Care specializes in treating minor illnesses and injuries for patients of all ages.
