Birmingham Art Crawl Celebrates Artoberfest

On Thursday, October 2, 2014 the Birmingham Art Crawl, a 501(c)3 organization, will celebrate its fifth crawl with an Artoberfest theme highlighting artists in downtown shops, businesses, galleries, restaurants, and bars as well as drink specials in recognition of the traditional Octoberfest activities.

Birmingham, AL, September 11, 2014 --(PR.com)-- On Thursday, October 2, 2014 the Birmingham Art Crawl, a 501(c)3 organization, will celebrate its fifth crawl with an Artoberfest theme highlighting artists in downtown shops, businesses, galleries, restaurants, and bars as well as drink specials in recognition of the traditional Octoberfest activities.

Participating venues would like to officially invite the public to join in this celebration of art and downtown during Artoberfest as well as every first Thursday from 5-9pm, rain or shine.

Throughout the Birmingham Art Crawl footprint in the Historic Loft District, you will be able to meet local artists exhibiting their original artwork in some of the coolest downtown businesses.

The list of participating downtown venues has included: The Collins Bar, The Wine Loft, Pale Eddie’s Pour House, Rogue Tavern, Das Haus, Paramount, Carrigan’s, Matthew’s Bar and Grill, Steel, Kinetic Communications, The Signature Salon, Harold & Mod, Charm, Mamanoes, What’s on Second?, Storkland, Reed Books, Sojourns, Iberia Bank, Weld for Birmingham, Levy’s Fine Jewelry, Space One Eleven, Omni Studios, and the Wade Smith Gallery.

The Birmingham Art Crawl also highlights ongoing art-related activities such as the Birmingham Museum of Art’s First Thursdays event and art exhibits in the Birmingham Public Library.

Having just celebrated the annual Birmingham Artwalk, patrons and spectators can expect to enjoy some of the same visual artists and performers as well as other local artists interested in exhibiting on a consistent, monthly basis all year long.

Interested artists can apply to the Birmingham Art Crawl online at birminghamartcrawl.com. The artist application fee for the year is a modest $10, and after review and approval by the Review Committee, artists can choose to register for monthly participation at $20 per month or a yearly participation of $180.
