WebTeam Corporation is Named Among the Top 100 Finalists for the 13th Annual Chicago Innovation Awards

Out of an astounding 552 nominees, WebTeam Corporation of Somerset, New Jersey has been selected as one of the Top 100 Finalists still in the running for the 13th annual Chicago Innovation Awards. The awards celebrate the most innovative new products and services in the Chicago region across all organization sizes, sectors and industries. 1,500 business and civic leaders will come together to honor the winners when they are announced on October 30th at Chicago’s Harris Theater.

Somerset, NJ, September 12, 2014 --(PR.com)-- The innovation nominated by WebTeam Corporation is geared towards tracking and collecting data pertaining to students’ activities on various iOS and Android devices. WebTeam has integrated its patent-pending technology in a package of mobile apps called ColorsKit.

"ColorsKit is a package of educational apps for parents, teachers, therapists and researchers associated with special needs education. The data-tracking functionality integrated with audio and video technologies can help parents and teachers communicate crucial information back and forth between homes and classrooms. Parents can teach the same lesson plans that the child learns in the classroom. The innovation that is at the heart of ColorsKit helps a differently-abled individual develop skills specific to his or her unique learning objectives. Most importantly, ColorsKit allows caregivers to obtain the information necessary for every part of autism management, in order to decide upon the most effective treatment, intervention or teaching method," said WebTeam CEO Nish Parikh. "I would like to take this opportunity to thank the Chicago Innovation Awards team, the judges and board of directors."

"In the midst of the new school year, the package can be helpful in addressing the challenge of high demand of special needs services. ColorsKit is not a substitute for human touch, which is an essential component in any form of education. It rather works as a supplemental tool that helps teachers engage more students on the iPad and tablets. For parents, it can serve as a reliable tool to manage, maintain and monitor their child’s education from preschool to K-12," Parikh added.

"Chicago is in the midst of a monumental upsurge in innovation," said Tom Kuczmarski, co-founder with Chicago journalist Dan Miller of the awards. "It’s inspiring to see the range of vision and the depth of talent among organizations in the Chicago area. Companies are investing in innovation and taking more risks to launch new ventures and uncover new value."

As one of the Top 100 Finalists, WebTeam Corporation will receive a $2,500 scholarship to attend The Practical Innovator, a day-long executive education course on September 23rd led by top faculty who teach innovation at Northwestern’s Kellogg School of Management.

Each of the Top 100 Finalists is also in the running for the annual “People’s Choice Award,” selected through online balloting at www.chicagoinnovationawards.com. The deadline to vote is October 3rd 2014.

Out of the Top 100 Finalists, the judges will select 10 winners of the Chicago Innovation Awards, as well as winners of the Up-and-Comer Awards representing innovation in the start-up community, the Social Innovator Award and the Collaboration Award. The winners will be invited to ring the NASDAQ Bell in New York City, invited to separate meetings with Mayor Rahm Emanuel, Governor Quinn, and Cook County President Toni Preckwinkle to discuss their innovation, profiled in Crain’s Chicago Business, and invited to business leadership training at Disney Institute in Orlando, FL.

About WebTeam Corporation
WebTeam Corporation, a technology development subsidiary of Rangam Consultants, was incorporated in 2005 to design, develop, and promote technologies for education and distance learning and training. At the time, autism intervention in the classroom was largely unstructured, and in the following years, WebTeam experimented with a few technologies to ascertain if teachers could benefit from using touchscreen kiosks in the classroom. The experimentation led to the development of S.H.A.N.E.S.H. ColorsKit, which, together with the app-based iLearnNEarn program that was put to use in 2011, charted a new horizon in autism treatment by extending classroom intervention to homes and therapy centers globally. Since January 2012, WebTeam’s autism apps have registered 1.2 million downloads across iTunes, Google Play, Nook and Kindle, while delivering 5,000 daily sessions on average.

The company's mission is to increase the bandwidth of the educational bodies and service providers to accommodate the increasing demand of autism intervention, along with helping children with ADHD and Asperger's to improve their lives by making them independent.
